Sun, sea, nice - hard and technical sections and a victory in my pocket. That's the result of last weekend. It's just fantastic, especially because it's in my own country and also because winning now from Gilles and Vincent makes it even better for me since our level has raised a lot the past couple of years. I saw Gilles making 3 points in section one (for time) so I knew he was going to give the best out of him once again. I crashed at the very end of section one so I was already 2 points behind but than after section 5 I took the lead with one point and it even got better when Gilles crashed in section 6. I finished my first lap with 5 points ahead so it would have been very silly from my side to try the hard parts of the sections so I kept my advance all the way. At one point in section 5 with only 4 points ahead I almost failed on the big log but luckily I recovered well and redid the jump with success. In section 6 I posed another security dab so finally I end up with 3 points ahead.

I'd like to thank all the people who showed up to encourage me!! It really motivated me a lot! also big thanks to my club for volunteering during the whole weekend, really amazing. To my father for making us the best sections he could make. Thanks to CB sportsmarketing, Tom Jacobs and Score! for creating so much media exposure; never done before in trials! big up!!!!! to my girlfriend Fieny for helping and supporting all year long. To Wesley for being such a good minder, to my coach Paul for keeping me fit and helping me to stay motivated...
